There's no such thing as a "typical" ceremony with Yagé (Ayahuasca). Each person lives their own experience, and each ceremony reveals new layers of healing.

An ayahuasca ceremony in the traditional sense is a time when the tribe would gather together for an evening to drink the medicine for its healing, purgative, visionary and transformational effects.

Each person's experience is highly individual and is a direct communication with the deepest parts of who they are. The heightened sensitivity created by the medicine unlocks a state of consciousness where the person is fully awake, yet aware of their inner subconscious mind.

The Taitas refer to this state as ‘dreaming while you are awake’.

For this reason, we have created a safe and sacred environment for ceremony at Finca Ambiwasi.

The Maloka is our ceremonial sanctuary, where you will be held in the heart of the Finca as you journey with the medicine of the Yagé (Ayahuasca). During each ceremony we allow a time of silence, followed by a time of music and celebration.

The music is a sacred medicine that aids in the healing process, and the musicians at Finca are healers who are also working with the Yagé (Ayahuasca) in ceremony.

The Ceremony Experience

The Maloka

The Spiritual Heart of Finca Ambiwasi

We take healing and the sacredness of Yagé (Ayahuasca) and plant medicines so seriously, that we have built a sanctuary where all the ceremonies take place.

The walls have been painted by a professional painter with visions of Yagé (Ayahuasca). It has an incredible altar where the healings take place and the healers stay during ceremony. There are two different fire places on each side of the Maloka to keep it warm and cozy and to maintain the sacred fire nearby.

It also has 4 toilets as well as two external rooms that are used for Private Consultations with Taita Juanito, to store the Sacred Medicines, for other types of therapies and for participants who require a more private setting during ceremony.

Music as Medicine

ceremonial music & divine chanting

During these ceremonies the songs and music are forms of prayer that bring

healing energies into the ceremonial space. The sound vibration connects the

healer and plant medicine to the people.

In the ayahuasca tradition it is said that the healers and musiqueros sing the sickness away.

The power of the music and the chanting of the Taitas makes the healing and the experience something to remember for the rest of your life.

Juan David, Main Musician

In this tradition we have highly skilled musicians that are also

healers at the same time.

Juan David Muñoz is the main musician at Finca

Ambiwasi. He has recorded three CDs and he is widely renowned for his

amazing powerful voice, his talent with the many instruments he plays and for his connection as a healer.

Being in Ceremony with musician Juan David is one of the most amazing experiences you can imagine.

Luis Gabriel, Musician

A few years ago Luis Gabriel also joined the crew with his talent.  He plays the violin, guitar, flutes, percussions, piano and uses his voice.

Luis Gabriel has been studying music since he was 9-years-old and has been working with plant medicines for over 15 years. It is an amazing opportunity to meet a being with such power to heal through sound.

Luis Gabriel works directly with your Spirit to help heal blockages, traumas and energetic imbalances as to help us come back to our true essence.
